About Me:
I have been in Lloydminster most of my life and have been tattooing since 2009. I was originally trained for Radio Broadcasting but have always stayed true to the artistic side of me. I have been artistic since I could remember and had teachers put me through art classes on their own dime, impressed by my work. I have had some of my works travel with displays through Canada, and aside from tattooing, I paint, draw and distress furniture and take photographs. I have taken instruction under a gallery represented artist in water color and hope to revive the Allied Arts Council. I am friendly, down to earth and easy to talk to!
I know there is much apprehension getting a tattoo, wondering if the place is clean, sterile, are the needles disposed of, what kind of barrier protection and disinfection is done, especially in ones home.
First off, I tattoo from my home because its a part time gig for me. If I had a shop, I would be paying rent and bills and an overhead which would increase the price of my tattoos. I prefer this way because I can do them when I want and how I want. I can keep them affordable and still do what I love.
When I got into this many years ago, I researched inks, procedures, you name it. I was shocked to see artists were using inks that had lead and carcinogens in them. I feared that tattoos I had done on me contained these things. I knew a client wouldn't even ask, as long as it was in the safety of a "shop". I was told Health Inspectors were telling Artists to disinfect their gear with bleach. I learned bleach does not kill hepatitis. Bleach was going into peoples skin and in their tattoos. I took my blood Bourne pathogens certification, found organic bright and beautiful inks, went completely disposable and use proper disinfectants made for hospitals and tattoo shops.
I found clients were very comfortable in my presence. They were being educated as I explained everything to them. They felt at ease. They could talk, relax and laugh without blaring metal music. I have tattooed a beautiful granny as old as 75, business people, firemen, stay at home moms, you name it! I keep in touch with my clients to make sure everything is going well with the healing process.
So I hope this helps you in your decision to make a permanent decision like a tattoo. If you decide not to go with me, please people, research your shop! Portfolio is one thing, but its your right to ask questions about your procedure! I will soon be posting a FAQ to answer some of your questions. Feel free to message me anytime! God bless!
